Been a while since I have written to you all. It has been a very busy few months as I am currently studying at Bath University to become an Independent prescriber which means I will be able to prescribe medication in my specialist areas which are urinary tract infections and hypertension or high blood pressure in the NHS and I am investigating how I can integrate this into my nutritional therapy business. I am hoping to be able to prescribe and support for other conditions but at this point it’s one step at a time and a lot of work!
Regarding my nutritional therapy business it has been a bumper year and I am loving the way the business is growing and the great results that you are all seeing with the combination of my medical knowledge plus nutritional therapy magic.
One of my recent instagram posts created quite a stir as I spoke about the rise of GLP1 injections such as mounjaro or wegovy. I am in a really priviledged position to have a foot in both camps regarding training and information in my pharmacist role and nutritional therapy role. Make no mistake these medications are life-changing for people who have diabetes and or/ battled with their weight for a long time . Yes ,they have side effects and are not suitable for everyone but they do remove food noise which helps people reassess their food intake. They can make you incredibly thirsty and work by delaying stomach emptying which makes you feel full and also can cause incredible nausea and wind. I reflected that for me they are doing the exact opposite that I am aiming for my clients digestion to do! We promote great absorption of nutrients and good digestion. However, nutritional therapy is a great addition in offering support and guidance to people who are using these drugs as we have tools to minimise side effects and help achieve a balanced diet that will promote the stabilisation of weight when they are stopped. As a health coach I can also advise on suitable exercise and reinforcement of positive habits. And if weight loss is happening then people feel better about themselves and have greater motivation for long lasting change.
Please spread the word to friends and family about the results and benefits nutritional therapy offers.
I’m offering packages, one-off consultations or my monthly maintenance plan(for existing clients only). And my knowledge is expanding at a great rate !
Have a lovely week
